"As with the rest of the things in our lives, we are programmed by fate" states Dan Shechtman at the opening of the episode dealing with his discovery, the quasi-crystal. Truthfully, as we can learn from the life story of the Technion researcher for whom fate summoned many long hard years, years in which he was forced to deal, almost alone, with the international scientific community which made a laughing stock of his discovery of the crystal with pentagonal symmetry. In the same way that he had proved their mistake to the scientific world and won fame, Shechtman has decided to embark on another journey, no less difficult, the campaign for Presidency of the State of Israel.
