A unique martial-arts technique developed by the grandfather is passed down to the son and grandson. A survivor of Auschwitz, Mr. Skornik fought back hard and became a renowned martial-arts teacher and decorated soldier.

In this film, devoid of females, the harsh memories of persecution are passed down from father to son to grandson. In modern-day Israel, fighting back and fighting hard are still slogans and a way of life for three generations of the Skornik family. Trained by his father in a method developed by his Holocaust surviving grandfather, Idan had no choice but to become a martial arts champion. But how do you react when your father is your coach, and he in turn was taught by his own father? We follow Idan as he grows, and struggles and challenges the reality that he has inherited. Idan is conflicted as he takes on the burdens of family history and national pride. He struggles to perform, but strives to be a regular kid and get tired sometimes. With a style that is closer to fiction film, filmmaker Itay Livne takes us into an intimate place of multiple struggles. The film follows an extraordinary childhood of rigorous training entangled by complex family relationships in the arena that is shadowed by the past.
